Bed Time!

Regardless of the time, one thing I do every day (well that may depend – sometimes it’s twice a day! After midnight and before midnight!)  But generally the end of the day is signalled by “BED TIME”

Because I work either later at night (as in home at around 11 pm) and early in the morning (as in up by 6 am) I rarely go to bed at the same time anymore.  I rather miss this, but it is the reality of working two different jobs.

Last night, for example, I was so excited to get back on my laptop (I’d sent it in to DELL for repairs on Tuesday and it was back home on Friday!!!!!) that I didn’t go to bed until after midnight.  During that time I ended  up eating way too many bananas with peanut butter.  Healthy yes, but only one a day – not three!

I  have noticed that when I can’t get to sleep, I always get up and have something to eat – a fruit, some bread…. usually in and of themselves quite healthy – just not at bedtime.  They are also relatively quickly consumed.

So, before I even go to work tonight, I’m going to set out the tea, put water in the kettle, and settle in with my book.  No computer, no TV (not that that’s an issue) – just tea and a book.

This bedtime eating has always been an issue for me, and it’s one I need to build a new habit loop for.

How do you deal with eating in the evening?  I could use some alternative actions!

Have a great day!

About Marcia Stehouwer

I have a great life (most days) and a small budget, so being frugal is one of my favourite hobbies. I started this blog after procrastinating for 3 months, on April Fool's Day. I knit, I read, I knit, I work... I am also about a quarter of the way through my goal to lose 100 pounds. So between knitting, working, reading etc., I also do some walking! EDIT: 2021. I am not closer to my weight goal, but moving forward. The budget is still small. We are renting our homestead and progressing towards our family dream!

Last night I made my tea, as planned, but added some lovely grapes that I bought with my groceries. I love red glob grapes, even with the seeds. But I went straight to bed, no computer, just the normal chores before bed, and slept well. Just didn’t finish the tea!
