Focusing on the Good!

This week I managed to make it to the gym 5 times – and I spelt the word FOCUS on the board.  That word, partially written, made me show up for my work-out.  My friends joined in and that made it fun as well.  It’s always good to be connected with others when you are on a journey I think.

However there were moments when my focus wavered.  I discovered that Co-op had Cadbury chocolate bars on sale – and they were

CHEAP! CHEAP!! CHEAP!!!

Instead of focusing on “less calories in!” I ended up focusing on how I could get the most calories for my buck – and I have to say that I got a lot of them and they were good.  However, looking back on this week, that little shift in focus came with a price – as did every shift of focus.  Maybe I could have lost 2 pounds this week instead of 1.

Here’s to next week and a renewed focus on what calories am I introducing to the weightloss equation.
Have a good week!

About Marcia Stehouwer

I have a great life (most days) and a small budget, so being frugal is one of my favourite hobbies. I started this blog after procrastinating for 3 months, on April Fool's Day. I knit, I read, I knit, I work... I am also about a quarter of the way through my goal to lose 100 pounds. So between knitting, working, reading etc., I also do some walking! EDIT: 2021. I am not closer to my weight goal, but moving forward. The budget is still small. We are renting our homestead and progressing towards our family dream!

To the gym 5 times – wonderful accomplishment!! I had a really hard time working out with any kind of consistency before, so this business of doing knee rehab exercises 4 times a day is getting to me!

But on the other hand, Hedy, you are creating a habit that you could build on after the rehab is over! I hope it’s healing well!
