<p>Tonight my particular group of Ladybugs met at the Swiss Chalet for dinner.  Because of my later shift, we met very close to my work, and I was able to make it in time for dinner.</p>
<p>When we were arranging it all, I requested a pre-order of a chicken ceasar salad.  This saved me from the french fries and stuff that I might have ordered.  Mind you, Fran did share a few with me. And when dessert time came around, no-one would share with me!  I ended up having a cup of coffee with Baileys and a bit of whip cream.  It was a great ending to a wonderful meal.</p>
<p>All in all, today was a very good day.  No complaints about my food choices &#8211; except that next time I will remember to ask for salad dressing on the side and no croutons!</p>

<p>I still have to solve this food intake thing &#8211; by my estimation, I should be losing and I&#8217;m not.  This is so frustrating that I sometimes feel like throwing in the towel.</p>
<p>Yet I persevere and hope that tomorrow will be even better than today.  Now I&#8217;m going to finish eating my apple.  Fuji apples are on sale at Calgary Co-op for only 99 cents a pound.  I see a lot of apples and asparagus in my next week!</p>

<p>Being Tuesday, yet again&#8230;I missed the gym.  I could go right now, but frankly after driving to Fort Saskatchewan and back &#8211; with lots of moving of boxes. &#8211; I&#8217;m just tired.</p>
<p>So, I&#8217;m going to finish my bowl and grab my book, and I&#8217;m going to go to sleep!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today is a holiday of sorts in Alberta, so I&#8217;ve been home all day.  Of course that also means that the gym doesn&#8217;t open until 8 am.  By which time I had already done a whole lot of stuff.</p>
<p>My bedroom was a quasi-disaster area as I had begun cleaning and decluttering my room.  It looks much nicer now.</p>
<p>I had also shovelled a lot of snow.  It seemed pretty easy to just do everyone&#8217;s sidewalk this morning &#8211; the snow was so light and there wasn&#8217;t too much of it.  By the time I got to the gym, I was pumped.</p>
<p>So, we&#8217;ll weigh in on Wednesday.  I&#8217;ll be hitting the gym later than usual since I am off to Edmonton tomorrow.</p>
<p>All that to say that a day off doesn&#8217;t always make for a great day diet-wise.  My meals were great.  Day two of the buddah bowl and it was still delicious.  But I think I&#8217;m going to get low sodium soya sauce &#8211; and probably make less dressing next time.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s the snacking in between that is getting to me &#8211; muffins, a sandwich, some dried mango&#8230;. All perfectly acceptable, just not too many of them.</p>
<p>We&#8217;ll see how tomorrow goes!</p>

<p>I got a recipe from my dietician for a Buddah Bowl.  Now a  buddah bowl can be one of two things:</p>

<p>The recipe for the meal on the right is at <a href="http://healthyteacher.weebly.com/meals.html" target="_blank">this link</a>.  But to let you know, it&#8217;s not really like mine.  Mine consists of some starch (I used 1 cup of whole grain rice noodles) 100 grams of tofu, cubed, a tomato &#8211; sliced, a green onion-diced, some cucumber and an amazing dressing.</p>
<p>For the dressing I took the zest off a lime and the juice from inside it, about a tablespoon of grated ginger, a tablespoon of sesame oil ( and don&#8217;t substitute something else for this, the flavour of sesame oil is something I&#8217;m really beginning to enjoy) a tablespoon of honey and 4 tablespoons of soya sauce.  (this is enough for four servings, three of which are in the fridge and the other is in my tummy)</p>
<p>If  you search for buddah bowl recipes,  you&#8217;ll find all kinds of recipes, which leads me to believe that anything can go into making one &#8211; so here&#8217;s my formula:</p>
<p>One or two servings of starch &#8211; noodles, rice, quinoa, millet, or a mix</p>
<p>As many veggies as you like- spinach, carrots, corn, onion, cucumber, tomato&#8230;they can be raw, cooked or steamed, however you like them.</p>
<p>And a dressing over top of it all &#8211; to add some flavour.</p>
<p>So that was my creative cooking after work.  This is not a very expensive meal, but I have to say it was very filling.  I am looking forward to enjoying it again tomorrow.</p>
<p>Everything else went as planned today as well.  So I have no regrets about what I&#8217;ve eaten or how much I&#8217;ve moved.  But I am looking forward to the gym tomorrow!</p>

<p>Goal wise it was a good, good day.  A good meal of noodles,(1/2 a cup), some meatloaf and lots of mixed veggies (mostly beans) was the star of the day.</p>
<p>On the &#8220;other&#8221; side, I didn&#8217;t have my breakfast  until 9:30 this morning, at work.  Lots of things got in the way &#8211; and I&#8217;m glad I got them done &#8211; but I did feel the consequences for my lateness.</p>
<p>&#8220;Note to Self&#8221;  Breakfast needs to be eaten at home, before 8 o&#8217;clock in the morning because you&#8217;re a basket case, other wise.</p>
<p>And I was &#8211; light-headed even.  I&#8217;ve never felt that way before.  I hope I don&#8217;t feel it again!</p>
<p>Have a good night.  I&#8217;m going to sleep early because I&#8217;ve got an early morning!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s almost bedtime and I want to share a bit about my day.  It was pretty good &#8211; although for some reason I seemed compelled to eat sweets.  Fortunately we have a little machine that gives just a small handful of Reeses Peanutbutter Pieces and that seems to satisfy the yearning.</p>
<p>Of course since this is Thursday, it was the <a class="zem_slink" title="TOPS" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOPS" rel="wikipedia">TOPS</a> scale at front and center.  I weighed 228 pounds &#8211; so a drop of 2.5 pounds.  I need to keep that up just so I can catch up on my goals!</p>
<p>We spent the meeting time sharing wisdom, writing them on sheets of paper so that we all have the same wisdom&#8230;</p>
<ol>
<li>Don&#8217;t worry about things  you can&#8217;t change and change the things you can.</li>
<li>Where is Encouragement?  <em>Everywhere.</em>                                 Who does it affect?<em>Everyone.</em></li>
<li>Give gratitude each day for all your many blessings.  It will help you balance your day by helping you realize how blessed you are.</li>
<li>You are a very special person.  Full of wisdome, experience and love.  You are #1 to your family!</li>
<li>Don&#8217;t give up!  If you make a slip get back on track.</li>
<li>A cord of three strands is not easily broken.  Proverbs.</li>
<li>Do unto others as others do to you.</li>
<li>Stay on track &#8211; don&#8217;t give up!</li>
</ol>
<p>There it is.  I do hope it comes in handy as you travel the road to a healthy body weight.</p>

<p>Tonight I did everything I needed to do &#8211; which didn&#8217;t give me much time for eating.  I&#8217;ve got some soup in the crock-pot.  Laundry soap is made and cooling.  The hedgehog is bathed and crunching.</p>
<p>All in all, I&#8217;m glad to report a day with no eating regrets!</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve been busy all day, and everyone conspired to keep me from eating too many cookies!  But the two I had I did enjoy thoroughly.</p>
<p>As I mentioned yesterday, I missed the gym this morning but was very definitely on time for the ultrasound &#8211; and what a wonderful thing that was to share with Emma and Eric. I&#8217;m going to have a granddaughter, Lord Willing, in July and she is just so precious.  One of the ultrasound shots is of her touching her toes.  You can&#8217;t start exercising too early in life, and I intend to help her exercise every day!</p>
<p>The spring rolls were delicious today &#8211; and very filling.  But I didn&#8217;t bring something for dinner, so I ended up with pork dumplings.  I just didn&#8217;t see anything I would have liked for a meal I had to squeeze into 10 minutes.  Lunch was better &#8211; meatloaf, 1/2 a cup of kamut spaghetti and lots of veggies!</p>
<p>See you tomorrow &#8211; I&#8217;m going to enjoy some hot cocoa (modified from my Christmas recipe) and a few prunes.  I do enjoy my bed time snack!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;ve been thinking, since last week, about how really sincere I am about losing this weight.  I&#8217;m sincere about showing up at the gym.  Am I sincere about sweating?  Am I sincere about what goes into my body?</p>
<p>Today I was pretty busy&#8230;so not much time for snacking.  I cooked a turkey (no stuffing, no trimmings) packed up 5 containers of meat and made soup stock.  The rest of the stuff will be added tomorrow night.</p>
<p>I also made spring rolls &#8211; I&#8217;m not sure if I&#8217;ll make them the same way next time &#8211; maybe more veggies and less rice noodles, but they were good and I&#8217;ll take some to work with me tomorrow.</p>
<p>One the down side &#8211; the potato salad &#8211; it should never have come home with me.  But I did enjoy it, even if I ended up with too much starchy foods today!</p>
<p>I hope you enjoy tomorrow with those you &#8220;less than three&#8221;</p>

<p>I may miss my date at the gym &#8211; I&#8217;m going to see my grandbaby via ultra-sound and it&#8217;s an early appointment.  Then it is off to work and to enjoy wrapping flowers for people.  I think it will be a very long and pleasant day!</p>
